Journal,
I am beside myself with excitement.
I have received a telegram from a certain lady, and it can only be a matter of time before the adoption begins to go forward as planned.
Mr. Footman shall be so pleased.
Now, if I can just keep him from saying anything, ah, incriminating.
In the meantime a certain defect which I have recently discovered about myself has proven to be more boon than setback. With a little more skill, my new talent will prove very useful indeed.
I am well settled into my new room at the Excelsior and I must admit I do enjoy the sound of the trains coming and going at all hours.
Went to a lovely All Hallows party yesterday evening and had every intention of attending the Mask tonight but was detained. Very inconvenient.
I have heard there is creature prowling the streets and doing harm to the urchins (the exact rumor was that the thing is eating them, but I can't imagine anything would be that suicidal!). I think I may have to hunt it down and attempt to do away with it, I would be crushed if something were to happen to Mr. Gant before he is delivered safely into my hands...
Ahh, the nodding hour is come.
